Senior Chinese political advisor meets senior Thai legislator

Wang Gang, a Communist Party of China senior official, on Thursday met with the First Deputy Speaker of the Thai Senate, Nikom Wairatpanij.

  Wang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference , the country's top advisory body, welcomed the Thai legislator, who came here to watch Olympics events and attend the closing ceremony.

  Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said the CPPCC had maintained multi-level friendly exchanges and cooperation with Thailand's senate in recent years.

  Exchanges between the two bodies constitute an important part of China-Thailand ties, help enhance mutual understanding and trust, and promote bilateral ties, Wang said.

  THe CPPCC would like to expand and deepen cooperation with Thailand's senate and contribute to bilateral relations.
